The Stockdale Paradox...Facing Reality, Walking in Faith

Facing Reality, Walking in Faith

In business coaching this week, I was introduced to something called the Stockdale Paradox.

Yeah, sounds exciting, right???

It comes from Jim Collins’ book Good to Great and teaches that true resilience comes when we hold two truths at the same time:

  • Honesty to face the current reality.

  • Faith that we will prevail in the end.

That tension hit home for me—not just in business, but in life.

It has taught me a lot about as I've pondered not only about my own faith journey but also trying to run a crazy awesome Christian sock biz and wanting to serve all of our amazing BibleSocks fam.

One of my favorite titles of Jesus Christ has always been the “High Priest of Good Things to Come” (Hebrews 9:11). He invites us to trust Him, even when the road looks uncertain.

And Joshua 3:5 reminds us to “sanctify ourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”

At BibleSocks, this is why we do what we do.

Every pair of socks is a small reminder that even while facing today’s realities, we walk with faith in the promises of tomorrow.

As we head into Q4—our biggest season since launching back in 2020—we’re preparing, planning, and praying for “good things to come.”

And we can’t wait to share the wonders we’ve got lined up with you.

Keep walking with us. Good things are on the way.
