If you build it... THEY will come.

Ode to the Keyboard Warriors of LinkedIn

Boy, has business ownership taught me a few things...

It’s a full-blown self-improvement program.

If you want to expose every flaw you didn’t know you had…

First of all…get married.

Second…have children.

Third…start and build a business.

Here’s a little friendly warning for anyone stepping into the creative arena:

If you build it... THEY will come.

And no, I don’t mean baseball ghosts from an Iowa cornfield. (I hope you get that reference, if not - email me…)

I mean "THEY"... the haters.

The keyboard warriors. The overly confident, under-qualified armchair critics. The people who treat Facebook comment sections like an Olympic sport.

Case in point: Here’s a real comment we got recently on one of our social media ads:

“Christians! Where will it end? When will you STOP? How long will you people keep pretending to believe in something so silly and stupid?”

Yikes.

Now, instead of clapping back with a clever comeback (which, trust me, the natural man in me wanted to do), I took a breath and thought bigger. My good wife may have gently nudged me to choose the high road too. (She's wise like that.)

But let’s be real—can you imagine someone walking up to you at a grocery store and saying that to your face?

Yeah, me neither.

So, my friends: If you build it, THEY will come.

But don’t let that stop you. Ever.

Because here’s the deal—if you’re not attracting a few haters, then chances are... you’re not making much of a ripple.

The truth? 99% of the messages we get are absolutely amazing. Like:

  • The mom sending Bible-themed socks to her homesick son who just went away to college.
  • The aforementioned son who got cheered up by said Bible-themed socks.
  • The grandma whose grandkids are more excited about scripture thanks to a fun design.

That’s the stuff that keeps us going.

So if you're:

  • Building a side hustle
  • Creating something meaningful
  • Sharing your faith online
  • Raising a family with purpose

Keep going. Be bold. Be joyful. Be unashamed. And yes, even be ready for some backlash.

But know this: If you build it with love, with purpose, and with God at the center...

THEY will come.

But so will the right people.

And they’re the ones who matter most.

Now go build it. (And hey—maybe wear some bold socks while you do it.)

Thanks as always for walking with us.
