Are You Crazy for God?

OK, so here at BibleSocks HQ, we’re more than just a sock company—we’re a little crazy. But not just any kind of crazy.

A few years ago, a pastor’s wife shared something with me that’s stuck ever since. It was a simple New Testament verse:

2 Corinthians 5:13

"For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause."

Interesting, right? But here’s where it gets even better. She’d been reading from the Spanish version of the Bible—the Santa Biblia—while serving in South America. The verse read:

“Si estamos locos, es para Dios; y si estamos cuerdos, es para ustedes.”

Translation?
“If we are crazy, it is for God; if we are reserved, it is for you.”

That one hit differently.

It got me thinking:

What does it mean to be crazy for God?

The world defines “crazy” in two ways.

One is the out-of-control kind. But the other?

Passionate. Devoted. Enthusiastic. Smitten. All-in.

That’s the kind of crazy I want to be.

So why do we go to church in a world walking away from faith?

Why tithe?
Why stay away from things that dull the spirit—alcohol, drugs, toxic media?
Why post about Jesus on social media?
Why run a sock company that puts Scripture on your feet?

Because we’re crazy for God.

And when we’re “reserved,” it’s often because we’re worried about what people think.

So maybe this is your week.

Maybe you:
– Say the prayer you’ve been putting off.
– Forgive that person who doesn’t deserve it.
– Show up at church again.
– Love louder than seems logical.

Whatever it is, be a little crazy this week. The right kind of crazy.

Because if we’re going to be out of our minds… let it be for the glory of God.
