Be Still and Know
Many of you may or may not know that I set a goal this year to walk 1,000 miles in 2025. That’s about a 5k a day, six days a week—and I’m on track!
Cue the Rocky music… 😂
Most days, I listen to a podcast or audiobook while I walk. I love learning from brilliant minds and filling my head with new ideas. But sometimes… it’s just noise. My head is already so full of the complexities of life that nothing really lands.
The other day, while wrestling with some important business decisions, I felt a little nudge: “Turn it all off.” No podcast, no book. Just silence.
Within seconds, I felt a clear prompting from the Holy Spirit about exactly what to do next. It wasn’t a brand-new idea—but this time it came with clarity, boldness, and peace. I acted on it, and it’s already blessing our lives.
It reminded me of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” And also Elijah’s experience in 1 Kings 19, where God’s voice wasn’t in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire, but in the “still small voice.”
I’ve said this before:
-
God is SO interested in your success.
-
The Holy Spirit is SO good at His job. He’s the best teacher—and He’s perfect at it.
I just barely turned 53, and I’m still learning the difference between what is “signal” and “noise.” But every day, I want to get a little better at tuning out distractions so I can hear what really matters.
That’s one of the reasons we make faith-based socks—to remind you daily of the signal that matters most.
Maybe today, the best thing you can do is stop listening to everything else… and just listen.
Hope your day is SO good!
